Ricardo A. Benavides, 71, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018.

Ricardo was born to Roberto Benavides and Viola Benavides in Albion, Michigan. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate enough to have known him.

Ricardo was preceded in death by father, two brothers Jose Shears, Pablo Benavides; his son Raul Benavides; his grandson Daniel Garza Jr. and is survived by his loving mother Viola Benavides; his wife Guadalupe Garza Benavides; their children Beatris Bustillos, Janie Benavides, Cynthia Guijarro, Ricardo Benavides, Irene Benavides. Also, to treasure many memories are his twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his siblings; Pantaleon Benavides, Roberto Benavides, Jorge Benavides, Maria Esparza, Elvira Benavides and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2018 and from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, November 18, 2018 with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the North Chapel of Trevino Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018 at San Eugenio de Mazenod Catholic Church located on 5409 Austin Rd. in Brownsville, Texas. Rite of committal will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Honored to serve as Ricardo’s pallbearers are; Juan Pablo Benavides, Ignacio Herrera Jr., Ricardo Benavides Jr., Hector Guijarro, Hector Guijarro Jr. and Abraham Bustillos.

    So sorry for your lost to all Mr Benavidez family. I was fortunate to meet him while the family lived here in Florida he was a wonderful man and human being. My deepest condolences Cindy.
