Martha Laura Guerra Fries, 59, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 8, 2019.
Martha was born to Jose Inez Guerra and Maria Agustina Guerra in Brownsville, Texas. She was a loving and compassionate, beautiful woman who’s radiant smile lit up any room she walked into. Martha loved her family with an unyielding passion. Her greatest joy stemmed from her Lord and Savior that permeated to her family and friends. The relationship she had with people was a testament of the amazing, fun loving, compassionate woman Martha was. Her life’s philanthropy came from living from the heart of herself and giving what had been given to her. The energy of Martha’s personality was serving which was her soul’s calling. Our lives were enhanced by the sharing, giving and opening up Martha’s heart space. Martha leaves a legacy because her influence is long reaching and will continue to be felt by every life she touched, “Well done my wonderful daughter, sister and wife, well done.” She will always be loved and respected.
Martha was preceded in death by her aunt Maria Minerva Martinez and is survived by her parents Jose Inez Guerra and Maria Agustina Guerra; Martha's loving husband David M. Fries. Also, to treasure many memories are her siblings; Ceaser Guerra, Carlos Guerra, Rolando Guerra, Arnoldo Guerra, Esperanza Candler, Maribel Guerra and extended family members.
Honored to serve as Martha’s pallbearers are; Tom Candler, Josiah Candler, Carlos Guerra Jr., Ceaser Guerra, Matthew Guerra and Arnold Guerra.
Visitation will be from 12 noon to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 in the South Chapel of Trevino Funeral Home with a chapel service 3 p.m. following the burial at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
